Allysen Efferson

Allysen Efferson Allysen Efferson is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the state of Tennessee. In addition to her private practice, she is the Lead Therapist for the Freedom Inside Program at the YWCA, and the Mental Health Specialist for TalkPath Live, a tele-health company. 

She works with both faith-based and non faith-based clientele using evidence based therapeutic techniques and practices. Her faith-based approach to trauma and recovery combines sound psychology with biblical doctrine to support healing, intimacy, and growth. Her goal is to promote health and well-being within the individual, and in their relationships with others by helping clients develop practical tools and strategies they can start applying immediately. 

She specializes in treating adults with significant trauma histories. Her dynamic approach integrates psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). Her practice serves individuals, couples, and families with trauma-based issues, addiction, anxiety, depression, boundaries, conflict resolution, parenting, divorce, grief, unplanned pregnancy, post-abortive support, and premarital counseling. 

Many of the psychotherapy techniques and exercises she uses are taken from Attachment Theory, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Existentialism. She's written for Ricochet, is a mental health contributor for The Federalistand has authored a variety of professional white papers.
